Man, 75, in Christmas Day murder charge will face trial in June

A pensioner has appeared in court charged with murder

A 75-year-old man appeared in Mold crown court on Tuesday 31st December charged with the murder of his wife on Christmas day.

Thomas Bryan, of Fairbourne, south Gwynedd, confirmed his name, date of birth and nationality during an eight-minute video link hearing at Mold crown court. He was then remanded in custody to Berwyn jail at Wrexham.

He has been charged with killing Vivienne Bryan, 74, at a bungalow in Francis Avenue, Fairbourne.

A provisional trial date has been set for 22nd June at Caernarfon crown court and Mr Bryan will enter a plea on 20th March 20.

On Monday 30th December Mr Bryan appeared at a magistrates court where he stated to district judge Gwyn Jones: "I didn’t murder her."

The family of Vivienne are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of a loved family member.
