Police are warning people to be vigilant following a spike in robberies on the Taff Trail in Cardiff.
South Wales Police said it had received reports of seven robberies in the past five weeks along the popular walking and cycle path.
All of the reported incidents took place during the hours of darkness.
Patrols have been stepped up in the area and police have urged members of the public to stick to well-lit and busy roads after dark, as well as to take "normal precautions" whilst walking in unlit or poorly lit areas.
Cardiff Metropolitan University is urging its students and staff to be "extra vigilant."
A spokesperson for the university said: “South Wales Police have made us aware of an increase in incidents in and around popular Cardiff hotspots, and as such we have reminded students and staff to be extra vigilant when walking in and out of the city, particularly at night.”
