Snow falls in Wales as temperatures plummet after week of heavy rain

Snow has started to fall in parts of Wales after temperatures plummeted across the country overnight.

Forecasters warned of ice and snow over the next 24 hours, following a week of heavy rain and Storm Dennis.

ITV Wales' reporter Hannah Thomas tweeted a video of snow falling at Festival Park in Ebbw Vale.

The Met Office has warned drivers of blustery showers, with the possibility of ice, sleet and snow during rush hour.

Heavy blizzards were visible on the summit of Snowdon.

Traffic Wales said gritters would be out across the network to ensure the roads are as safe as possible.

It advised drivers to take care while travelling.
