Twelve people have been arrested after a series of drugs raids in Wrexham and Anglesey.

North Wales Police carried out 12 warrants, 10 of which were in the Wrexham area, on Wednesday morning.

One was also carried out on Anglesey, with another taking place in Merseyside.

Nine men and three women were arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.

A quantity of class A drugs, money and high value vehicles were seized during the raids.

Inspector Mark Hughes from North Wales Police said the arrests should ''serve as a warning to others involved in such activity.''

We will continue to relentlessly pursue any organised and criminal groups that operate in the Wrexham area. Today’s events should serve as a warning to others who are involved in such activity.

We want to reassure people that we are taking positive action. By conducting these warrants our aim is to cause disruption to the trade in illegal drugs across the area.
