Over 70s could be asked to self-isolate for 'four months' due to coronavirus

It is "entirely possible" that people over the age of 70 could be asked to self-isolate for four months amid concerns over the coronavirus outbreak, Wales' Health Minister Vaughan Gething has said.

The Health Minister also said the Welsh Government would "almost certainly ask people to take more extraordinary measures" over the coming days.

In the coming days we’re almost certainly going to ask people to take more extraordinary measures and not only for a week or two. If we do ask people over the age of 70 or with chronic health conditions to stay at home then we’re talking about probably three months or more for that to happen. These aren’t trivial choices, these are significant choices about the way that we live.
