Man who died at Cardiff recycling site named as tributes paid to 'totally irreplaceable' friend

Colleagues of a man who died at a recycling site in Cardiff have described him as a "totally irreplaceable" friend who was "always willing to help".

Emergency services were called to reports of an injured man at the Atlantic Recycling site on Newton Road in the city on Monday afternoon, July 8.Police later confirmed the man - who was a contractor carrying out maintenance at the site - had died of his injuries and his family had been informed.

South Wales Police confirmed that a joint investigation is now underway between them and the Health and Safety Executive to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The man has now been named locally as Kyle Colcomb.

In a statement posted online, M&B Hydraulics said: "We are sad to say Kyle was tragically taken in an on site incident at a site in Cardiff.

"We are all absolutely devastated at the loss of Kyle, who was an outstanding fitter an absolute gentleman and an all around nice guy. Totally irreplaceable. Absolute pleasure to have worked with you and have know you RIP OUR FRIEND. Our thoughts go out to all his family at this terrible time."People have since commented on the tribute to share their memories of Mr Colcomb.

One Facebook user said: "Can't believe this has happened... Kyle was a lovely lad, being new to the job when he came to site we would aways give him a hand. Thinking of you all guys at this sad time condolences go out to Kyle's family."Another said: "Rest easy Kyle, absolutely devastated. Absolute top man who couldn't do enough for you, always stepping up to help and always willing to help. You truly will be missed, taken far too soon."

While another added: "You were a top lad! Always had a smile on your face even when dealing with stinking ash carts! Pleasure to work with you bud!"
