Police launch murder investigation after man stabbed to death

North Wales Police has launched a murder investigation after a 35-year-old man died after being stabbed. Officers were called to an address in Old Colwyn on Thursday evening. Three men, two aged 32 and a 50 year old, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 38-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Man charged with Old Colwyn murder remanded in custody

A man charged with murder has been further remanded in custody today and will be asked to formally enter a plea in March.

Dean Cody, 30, of no fixed abode, appeared at a preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court this morning before Judge Paul Thomas, QC, who was on a live link from Swansea.

Cody is accused of killing David James Kingsbury, 35, at Old Colwyn, who was found dead in the town on January 5.

According to a Home Office pathologist Mr Kingsbury died from a single stab wound.

Cody and two others charged with assisting an offender - Colin Lyness and Thomas Revalto - also appeared via a link from Altcourse Prison in Liverpool.

During today’s short hearing, a plea and trial preparation hearing was fixed for March 6 when all three will be asked to enter pleas.

Colin Lyness, 30, from Old Colwyn, and Thomas Revalto, 50, of Colwyn Bay, face one charge each of assisting an offender.

The three men said nothing apart from confirming their identities at today’s hearing.

Police given more time to question three men arrested on suspicion of murder

Police have been granted a further 36 hours to question the three local men arrested on suspicion of the murder of David James Kingsbury in Old Colwyn.

The 35 year old was found in the Bryn Heulog area on January 5th.

He died of a single stab wound.

Officers are continuing with their inquiries and police are appealing for any witnesses who may not yet have come forward to contact police.

We would like thank those who have already come forward with information which has assisted in the investigation, but we would still like to hear from anyone who may have been in the Aldi car park on Abergele Road or the Wellington Road areas of Old Colwyn, between 8.30pm and 9pm on Thursday 5th January.

We are also keen to speak to anyone who saw a silver 3 door Vauxhall Corsa in the Old Colwyn area and we are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the No 12 bus on Abergele Road between the mentioned times.

Woman arrested in Old Colwyn murder investigation bailed

A woman arrested in connection with the death of a man in Old Colwyn has been bailed.

The 38 year old was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of David James Kingsbury was found in the Bryn Heulog area last Thursday.

Three men were arrested earlier today, also on suspicion of murder.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Old Colwyn last week.

A murder investigation was launched last Thursday after the death of 35-year-old David James Kingsbury. North Wales Police says the three men, two aged 30 and one 50 year old, are all from the local area and are currently being questioned in custody. A 38-year-old woman arrested in connection with the death is also still in custody.

Police are continuing to appeal for information and say they are keen to speak to anyone who saw a silver three-door Vauxhall Corsa in the Old Colwyn area or who was travelling on the number 12 bus on Abergele Road, both between 8.30pm and 9pm on January 5th.

Tributes paid to man stabbed in Old Colwyn

The family of David James Kingsbury, the 35 year old who died after being stabbed in Old Colwyn, have paid tribute to him.

Mr Kingsbury was found on Thursday evening in the Bryn Heulog area after police were called to reports of a disturbance at a property.

A 38-year-old woman is currently being questioned by police after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Man killed in Old Colwyn by 'single stab wound'

A man who died following an incident in Old Colwyn yesterday evening was killed as a result of a single stab wound.

The cause of death of the victim, named earlier as 35-year-old David James Kingsbury, was revealed following a Home Office post mortem.

A 38-year old woman, who is local to the Old Colwyn area, remains in police custody, having been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Our inquiries are ongoing. We are particularly interested in hearing form anyone who may have seen or heard a couple arguing in the Bryn Heulog, Llysfaen Road or Abergele Road areas of Old Colwyn, between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday 5 th January. We are also keen to speak to any motorists who may have been travelling in those areas at the given times who may have had active dash-cams operating in their vehicles.

A man who died following a disturbance in the Bryn Heulog area of Old Colwyn has been named.

35-year-old David James Kingsbury, who was local to the area, died after officers were called to the scene at around 8:30 last night.

A woman, also local to Old Colwyn, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody.

We continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard an altercation involving a man and woman in the Bryn Heulog / Wellington Road areas or in Old Colwyn town centre, between late afternoon and approximately 9pm, to come forward.
