Paul Woodward, 55 of Melyd Avenue, Prestatyn, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court following the incident on the eastbound carriageway of Rhuallt Hill.
Newport Crown Court heard Phillips and Moshen, were sitting at tables in a communal area of the young offender unit, when a melee broke out among inmates.
