Proper Welsh Milk Company bought by Dairy Crest

Proper Welsh Milk began operations in 2011

Welsh dairy producer Proper Welsh Milk Company has been sold to Dairy Crest.

The company opened a dairy in Whitland in West Wales back in 2011 - believed to be the first to open in Wales in more than 70 years.

Dairy Crest say they'll honour current contracts and continue to process organic milk in Whitland "for the forseeable future".

The firm told The Grocer it had paid £325,000 for Proper Welsh Milk after the business went into administration on March 1st.
