Wylfa reactor may run to 2015

The operator of an existing nuclear reactor at Wylfa on Anglesey says it could continue producing power until 2015, later than expected. Meanwhile, the company behind the new 'Wylfa B' nuclear station is showing local businesses its plans today.

Wylfa could run until 2015, according to operator

An existing nuclear reactor on Anglesey could continue producing power until December 2015, according to its operator.

Wylfa was expected to shut down in 2014.

On its website today, operator Magnox said the plans are subject to Periodic Safety Review (PSR) approval.

Reactor 2 at the site was shut down last year.
