Llansamlet teenager campaigns for better life-limiting illness care

On Thursday's programme, we featured the story of an eighteen year old from Llansamlet's campaign to higlight what she says are a lack of facilities for young disabled people.

Amy-Claire Davies has severe physical disabilities and at the moment goes to Ty Hafan children's hospice. But when she turns 19 later this year the nearest facility which can cope with her needs is in Conwy.

Now, she and friends in a similiar position have set-up a Facebook campaign called 'We Demand' calling for more to be done.

The Welsh Government says it wants to ensure that transition processes from child to adult palliative care services are in place.

A spokesperson said it has paid for a transitional palliative care specialist to be available to support fellow professionals when dealing with teenagers in palliative care.
