The Vale of Glamorgan Council says it is supporting staff and pupils at Rhws Primary School in the wake of this morning's collision.
We were shocked to hear about this incident and we are very concerned about the condition of the injured children and adults.
We are working with the headteacher to ensure she has all the support she and her staff and pupils need.
Council education officers are at the school supporting the staff and an education psychologist is working with pupils.
The council has also been working very closely with the emergency services. We are looking at what help is needed for the local community.
Mr Elmore said the school remains open, but Fontgary Road is closed.
