City region board to hold first meeting

A group set up to boost investment in South East Wales will hold its first meeting today.

Business minister Edwina Hart announced the make-up of two City region boards in November - Swansea Bay and South East Wales - in a bid to improve the competitiveness of the Welsh economy.

The South East Wales City Region board, which has drawn on expertise from the public, private and educational sectors, will set the priorities to drive forward the economic growth of the region.

The board is headed by the Chief Executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, Roger Lewis.
