Jenny Willott has lost Cardiff Central to Labour ten years after she won it from them. In a seat with a high student population she resigned as parliamentary private secretary to Chris Huhne in order to rebel against increasing student tuition fees. She later benefited from Huhne's downfall, becoming a government whip in the subsequent reshuffle. She also became the only Lib Dem woman to attend cabinet. But none of that saved her from tonight's anti-Lib Dem tide.
