Cardiff Airport says it's recorded its 8th consecutive month of growth.
Passenger numbers for the month of January totalled almost 60,000 which is a 42% increase on January 2015. Passenger numbers grew by 56% in December compared to the same month in 2014, and over 64,000 passengers flew over the festive period.
Meanwhile the Welsh Government's announced that a new seven month contract for the air service between north and south Wales has been awarded to Van Air. Citywing will partner Van Air to provide the ticketing and marketing of the service.
A full tender for a longer term contract to operate the service will be launched shortly.
