Police on the hunt for 'bogus traffic cop' in Swansea

Police in Swansea are on the hunt for a man reportedly posing as a bogus traffic officer.

The man has been putting on his blue light to pull over drivers.

A suspicious member of the public called in real police after being stopped by the bogus officer using the homemade flashing lights at Pontardawe.

South Wales Police received a report of a male impersonating a police officer on the A4067 within the Pontardawe area. We are continuing to investigate the incident and would urge any witnesses to come forward.

Impersonating a police officer is a criminal offence under Section 90 of the Police Act 1996, with offenders potentially facing as much as six months imprisonment.
