One man dead and another injured after Cyprus 'hit and run'

A 39-year-old British man has been killed and a 32-year-old injured following a suspected deliberate hit-and-run in Cyprus.

Cyprus Police said the two men were struck by a car as they walked along a road near Paphos at about 2.30am, with the older man pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been named locally as Charlie Birch from Powys.

The second man was taken to hospital in Paphos with non life-threatening injuries, police added.

The force said two people, a 35-year-old man and 23-year-old woman, are facing charges of premeditated murder.
