Forty people have been evicted from a derelict five-storey building, known as a notorious squat, in St Paul’s.
Police say there have been 15 serious incidents there over the last three months, and numerous complaints from local residents and business owners.
The estimated 40 people staying in Decourcy House on Upper York Street have been asked to leave.
They have been offered support from local charities, including the St Mungo’s Outreach Team and Bristol Drugs Project, who are working closely with our neighbourhood team.
The Closure Order prohibits anyone except the building’s owner from entering. Anyone who does enter may be arrested.
