Crowds gathered in the centre of Bradford on Avon to see their main post box turn gold. It was in honour of Olympic champion and local boy Ed McKeever, who won gold in yesterday's 200m kayak sprint at Eton Dorney.

Ed won Team GB its 26th gold medal. The 28-year-old is now being called the "Usain Bolt of the water".

It was at Bradford on Avon Rowing Club that he first discovered his love of watersports. And his father - who's still Membership Secretary of the Club - said he was "immensely proud of the support Ed's had from people from the Rowing Club".

Dozens of people turned out to see the transformation of the post box. They seemed thrilled by the success of their local golden boy. Ruth Warren said:

"The atmosphere in the town has been electric. You could hear the cheer when Ed won. And we're just hugely proud and the golden box just signifies it. It's marvellous."

Now Ed says he wants to try to defend his Olympic title in four years in Rio. But before that he has his wedding to concentrate on. He's marrying his fiancee Anya Kuczha in just 6 weeks time.
