West Country athlete in GB Special Olympics team

This week a West Country athlete has been named as part of the team selected to represent the country at the 2014 Special Olympics Summer Games.

Daniel Amel-Azizpour, a judo player from Bradley Stoke in Bristol, will be travelling to Belgium for the event in September along with 47 other athletes.

Congratulations to all those who have been selected to represent Special Olympics GB at the Special Olympics European Summer Games in Belgium. It will be a very proud moment for all the athletes to represent their country and I wish them all the best with their preparations before the Games begin in September.

More than 2,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 58 European countries will take part in the ten sporting events.
