At Christmas many vulnerable people will be spending Christmas alone.

Across the UK, a number of charities will be doing their bit to bring these people together; one of them is the Marmalade Trust.

Based in Bristol, the Marmalade Trust is a small charity that works to combat loneliness for vulnerable people.

Today, the charity is hosting Christmas lunch for 60 guests who would have otherwise spent Christmas Day alone.

The lunches are being held at three locations across Bristol.

Bringing vulnerable and lonely people together, regardless of age, is the biggest and possibly one of the most important jobs we do at the Marmalade Trust. We have a team of the most brilliant volunteers who help make this event happen, and I cannot thank them enough.

But the Marmalade Trust is not just about Christmas. Throughout 2016, we will be working on more new initiatives to help people connect with each other, and keep those relationships going.
