Unlucky otters find love in Cornwall
An otter in Cornwall has found love with a new arrival at her animal sanctuary.
Apricot, the Asian Short Clawed Otter, found a "perfect partner" in a male named Harris.
Apricot moved to Cornwall from a centre in Birmingham last year after having a fall out with her sister. The team have been looking for a companion for her ever since.
Five-year-old Harris was also in need of a new home. He was born at the Welsh Mountain Zoo but was ousted by his family.
Apricot was given a hormone implant before the pair were introduced to prevent her getting pregnant.
The team built an enclosure inside the Otter house to keep Harris and Apricot separate but also able to get to know each other.
"Harris and Apricot were introduced today, and within five minutes they mated. They have spent the last couple of hours together with Apricot showing Harris around the enclosure and she even shared her food with him!"
