Junior doctors in the West Country have begun a second day of an all-out strike over new contract proposals.
For the first time junior doctors are walking out of emergency care including maternity wards, emergency surgery and A&E departments.
The strike started at 8am and will finish at 5pm.
Consultants and nursing staff will cover the loss of junior doctor labour for the second day in a row.
More than 3000 operations and appointments were cancelled yesterday at major hospitals in Devon and Cornwall.
It's the fifth time junior doctors have walked out this year.
