Community campaigners and volunteers across the region have been recognised in the Queen's 90th birthday honours list.

They're the unsung heroes and heroines, rewarded for their outstanding service to good causes.

Paul Hudson from Tavistock has been a member of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team since 1991. Today he's been honoured in the Queen's 90th birthday list with an MBE - for his tireless work looking for people who are lost on Dartmoor.

Over the years he's helped to rescue literally hundreds of people - in all weathers.

Angela Thomas has also done her fair share of helping young people. She's received a British Empire Medal for services to Girl Guides.
