A man has been arrested after Labour's Exeter MP received an abusive phone call, believed to be death threats. The call was recored on Ben Bradshaw's answering machine at his office in Westminster.
The office then informed the Parliamentary Police and Devon and Cornwall Police.
The arrest is understood to follow a series of incidents of abuse and threats to Mr Bradshaw's staff over several months, including racist and homophobic comments.
Police have released the following statement:
"An abusive phone call to MP Ben Bradshaw was recorded on his parliamentary office answering machine and heard on Thursday 15 June.
