Crowds have gathered in the centre of Bristol to take part in today's Pride events.
Hundreds are taking part in a march from Castle Park to the Harbourside and later today a line-up of music stars including Little Boots and Lisa Stansfield.
But while the event is about having a good time, it also has a serious message to promote.
As well as being a celebration of sexual diversity, the day is a promotion of equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Organisers say the parade is "a beacon for those many who cannot be out in their countries, to the 77 countries that ban homosexuality and offer lengthy prison sentences, to the 10 countries where homosexuality is punished by death."
