A group supporting under-pressure Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will hold a meeting in Bristol tonight (14 July) to discuss how to they will offer support to Jeremy Corbyn's leadership election.

Momentum in Bristol and the West of England - a branch of the group that helped get Mr Corbyn elected last year - has called for unity behind the leader in the wake of another Labour leader election.

In a statement posted on the Momentum Bristol Facebook page, the group say they are facing a 'leadership challenge' in the Labour Party.

Jeremy Corbyn is now on the ballot and we need to put all our efforts into getting him re-elected. This will be spread out over the summer.

We cannot take anything for granted and need to ensure our organisation is efficient. We therefore need to meet regularly, pool our ideas and ensure that members understand how the Labour party works so they can influence votes and local constituency parties.

Thousands are flocking to Momentum and the Labour Party and want to know how they can participate in his re-election.

Supporters will be meeting at the Malcolm X Centre to discuss how to move forward.

It comes as the Communication Workers Union office announced it was withdrawing financial support from Bristol's three Labour MPs, saying Bristol West MP Thangam Debbonaire is 'not welcome back' at the campaign base.

The union says that it has issued a vote of no confidence, following the Labour MP's 'support for an attempted coup' against Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
