A Russian adventurer looks to have smashed the world record for a solo round-the-world flight in a hot air balloon.

Fedor Konyukhov set off from Northam in Western Australia 11 days ago and this morning passed back over the region - beating the previous journey time by more than two days.

He is the second person ever to make the journey alone.

Once verified, it means Mr Konyukhov will be a world record holder and its thanks to a hot air balloon made in the South West.

His specially designed balloon and basket were made by Cameron Balloons in Bristol. The 1.6-tonne balloon travelled more than 19,000 miles.

Whole-hearted congratulations Fedor, from us all at Cameron Balloons!

Now we wish Fedor a safe and steady landing and after some much earned sleep and fresh hot food - we hope he enjoys a fantastic welcome-back celebration too.
