Thousands raised for crash victim with 'life threatening injuries'

A public fund-raising campaign has been launched to help the parents of Cheltenham Bournside School pupil Sophie Herbert, the 15-year-old girl seriously injured in Saturday's coach crash in France.

The JustGiving appeal had broken through its £500 target with the amount raised reaching more than £3,000.

The online appeal asks people to support Sophie's parents after they travelled to France to be with their daughter who suffered life-threatening injuries.

The organiser is keen to help keep the 15-year-old's parents at her bedside as she recovers.

Let's all come together and try and raise some money to help with the cost of flights and accommodation for Sophie's family as they are by her side in a french hospital whilst Sophie is undergoing major surgery following a serious coach crash in France.

So far over 221 people have donated to Sophie's family with messages of support also being written on the page.

Another student, a 15-year-old boy, also remains in hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Our thoughts remain with the two students and their parents who are still in France.
