Tour of Britain: former riders take on Somerset leg of ride ahead of Stage 5 race tomorrow

One of the biggest free sporting events Bath has ever seen descends on the city tomorrow.

Bath will host the finish of the fifth stage of the The Tour of Britain cycle race which also passes through Lydney, Gloucester, Stroud, Dursley and Yate

The race is expected to finish around 3.30pm - you can find out when the riders will be passing through your area here.

Olympians Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish are among the pack of more than 100 riders covering 1,000 miles.

Bristol will have not only the seventh stage of the race to itself on Saturday but a morning time trial as well.

ITV West Country caught up with two ex-professional riders, Matt Stephens and Tom Last, who've previously competed on the Tour, to discover just what it's like to be part of one of the UK's fastest growing and most popular sports.

The pair know what they're talking about - they run the Global Cycling Network, a website and social media project with millions of viewers that covers everything to do with cycling around the world.
