Thousands of party goers are expected to descend upon Flambards theme park in Cornwall tonight. The event started in a field 10 years ago - now it's the biggest event of its kind in Europe. More than 8,000 people are expected from all over the country.

What started out as a small party for friends has evolved into this...

Kelvin Batt is the festival organiser. He says the party is good for Cornwall's businesses.

This year's theme is Coney Island, New York's infamous fun fair - which makes this theme park in Helston the perfect location.

"Really really excited been looking forward to this for a long time now I think it is one of the best Halloween events in the South West there is nothing else that really compares to it so I am really looking forward to it. The outfits every year are really great."

"I come every year especially the Halloween one it is really different and special there is a lot of build up towards it, yeah, a lot of planning, fancy dress it is good."

Record numbers are expected tonight to check out the new venues, arenas and stage shows that organisers say will shock even the most seasoned of party goers.
