Saying farewell to footballing legend Gerry Gow

The funeral of footballing legend Gerry Gow has taken place on Portland in Dorset this afternoon.

400 people turned out to say goodbye.

I would say that he was a humble man. That doesn't mean that he couldn't stand up for something if he wanted. But he was humble, he wasn't boastful.

He was easy to talk to and form a friendship with. So I really valued the fact that we knew each other in these more recent years.

– Reverend Christopher Briggs, Easton Methodist Church

As a midfielder, Gerry Gow made his name at Bristol City before moving to Yeovil and then finally ending his career at Weymouth. The 64-year-old died last month from cancer.

This footage from today's funeral also includes some memories of Gerry Gow's career.
