Edible flowers have become the latest food fashion with some supermarkets introducing their own ranges this summer.

Maddocks Farm Organics near Cullompton in Devon, started producing the floral treats 15 years ago.

More than half of the trade is made up of dispatching petals for cake bakers and chocolatiers. Chefs also scatter the petals over dishes for decoration.

With restaurants and bakers using more and more edible flowers the farm has become an award-winning producer.

It now has the problem of keeping up with demand which is increasing each year.

With demand continuing to increase, chefs and growers alike will be hoping for a good harvest this summer.
