The partner of a keen runner who died while swimming the English Channel as part of a huge triathlon has paid an emotional tribute him.
Doug Waymark was taking part in a 300-mile mega-triathlon from London to Paris. The 44 year old had already run to Dover before attempting the crossing, but struggled during the swim, and then collapsed.
A search and rescue helicopter responded to a call from a nearby support ship on Monday 7 August. Doug was airlifted to hospital but later died.
The running club in Cheltenham held a special race on Wednesday evening in memory of Doug and members said they held him in their thoughts as they ran the route.
Runners said Doug was smiling down on them and would have loved the tribute, leading the group on his bike.
