Work begins on primary school for Devon's newest town

Work has begun on the site of a primary school for Devon's newest town.

Sherford on the outskirts of Plymouth will be home to more than 12,000 people.

Sherford Vale school and eventually nursery will be teaching children from September 2018.

Last month developers released a time lapse video of construction to celebrate a year since work began on the project.

Mrs Tipping, who will be the first Head Teacher for Sherford Vale, said last week she is excited by the project that aims to "build an outstanding school at the heart of the new community".

Our vision is for academic excellence and success for all children delivered through an exciting curriculum. We want children to ask questions and find solutions; make full use of the great outdoors including physical and sporting opportunities and to grow into confident young people in the community.
