A set of new road markings have been spotted in Cornwall, causing residents some confusion.

The white line and double yellow lines are two-feet-long and on Guildford Road in Hayle.

A new bit of road surface was laid after work was carried out on a gas main. Following the rules, the workers replaced all road markings they removed.

The new double yellow and white lines are there to replace previous markings, but the old ones have all faded away.

Wales and West Utilities who carried out the work say it was done according to the New Roads and Street Works Act.
