Murder investigation begins as man's body is found two weeks after he died

A murder investigation has begun following the discovery of a man's body in Bristol.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Avon and Somerset officers believe the deceased is Dean Sawyer.

The 43 year old's body was found in a home on City Road in St Paul's on Sunday 26 November. Detectives understand he may have been dead for up to two weeks.

Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are appealing for information of Mr Sawyer's last movements. A post mortem examination has revealed he was the victim of a serious assault.

A full investigation is being carried out into the circumstances of this tragic incident in which a man has lost his life.
