As the snow begins to thaw in many parts of the West Country, travelling around some parts of Somerset is still proving a challenge.

A Red Met Office weather warning was downgraded on Friday, but some roads are still impassable, with cars abandoned due to heavy snow.

Our reporter Ben McGrail was invited to go up with a pilot from the Civil Air Patrol to see how the county is coping and look for anyone stranded still. .

On the Somerset Levels, for many it will be a relief to see the snow and ice melting after a challenging few days.

The thaw may be well underway but it's clear from the air, that much of the county isn't out of the woods yet.
