Cheltenham Animal Shelter have issued a plea to track whoever left a box of three puppies at their gate.

The Gloucestershire based shelter found the seven-week-old Whippet Collie cross puppies abandoned on their premises early on Tuesday morning.

The shelter released a statement on their Facebook page, raising concerns that more puppies may have been left in the box and escaped.

But they say after extensive searches of the nearby area no other puppies have been found.

Despite being abandoned, Cheltenham Animal Shelter have said the dogs are in good health and have been "looked after well by their mother but are lacking human interaction".

The centre have named the puppies Utah, Jersey and Dallas and are hoping to re-home them soon.

They want the owner to contact them to get more information about background and breeding, as well as to confirm the number of dogs that were left.
