2018 Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas will be riding through Devon this September when he competes in the Tour of Britain.
The race returns to the region for Stage Two on 3 September, starting from the UK's newest town, Cranbrook and finishing in Barnstaple, which last welcomed competitors back in 2012. It is the competition's tenth visit to Devon in the past 12 years.
Team Sky has announced that the Tour de France champion Geraint Thomas and third-placed Chris Froome will ride together in the Tour of Britain for the first time since 2009. The Welshman is a regular, having ridden it eight times since his debut with a Great British national team in 2005.
It's something that Devon is looking forward to as well. The race always brings a boost to the economy and people will flock to line the route to cheer on the competitors on the day.
