Four-year-old Gerry - one of three giraffe at Bristol's Wild Place Project - has sadly died.

Gerry suffered from a rare blood condition which was diagnosed last year.

The condition - Thrombocytopaenia - meant that his blood was unable to clot due to a lack of platelets.

Gerry had been responding well to treatment since his diagnosis, but in recent weeks his health deteriorated.
