Glastonbury Festival tickets to go on sale in October

Glastonbury Festival have confirmed that tickets will go on sale next month.

A tweet from the music festival's official Twitter account said tickets will be available from Thursday October 4th 2018.

In order to give the farm, the village and the festival team the traditional year off, the next event will take place from the 26th to the 30th of June 2019.

Standard weekend tickets will cost festival-goers £248 each plus a £5 booking fee, an increase of £10 per ticket from 2017.

In a bid to tackle touts, ticket-buyers will need to register before purchasing.

The popular Somerset festival, will include more than 3,000 performances across more than 100 stages, but has yet to reveal any of its acts.

However, a number of big names have been rumoured to headline, including Kylie Minogue and Sir Paul McCartney.

The Australian pop star recently said she would love to fill the headline slot after having to pull out in 2005 to undergo treatment for breast cancer.
