Rod Stewart is due to kick off his 2019 UK tour at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium.

Having sold over 100 million records worldwide, he is one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

So it's little wonder that his tour sold out last week and as a result, an extra date was added on Wednesday May 22 in the West Country.

The announcement comes just days after Take That were also announced as one of several big concerts at the stadium next year.

The British rock star last took to the stage at the Bristol stadium 13 years ago where he played to a sell-out crowd.

It will be his first UK tour in three years. Pre-sale tickets will go on sale at 9am on Thursday 27 and general sale on Saturday 29 September.
