An 85-year-old woman is recovering after being robbed in Weston-super-Mare in what police are calling a "cowardly and nasty attack".

Mary Littler was left with a bruised face after she had been pushed to the ground while on her way home from a pharmacy.

She said she lived in Worle for 35 years and had never experienced anything like it.

It happened so quick.

I hope nobody else has to go through the same thing that I went through.

I try to be positive because I am a widow and I've been on my own now for 25 years. So I've got to be strong for myself."
