As part of our coverage of Remembrance Day and the commemoration of the end of the First World War, ITV News has gone back into the archives. This interview with First World War veteran Harry Patch was first broadcast in 2001.

I was 18 and a half when I was caught up. I saw two battlefields, Passchendaele and Pilckem. I shall never forget it as long as I live.

– Harry Patch

Harry Patch recalls his experiences in the trenches during the First World War, some of which he says "haunted him for the rest of his life".
