Armistice Day: The West Country remembers

At 11am this morning, the West Country fell silent as we remembered those who gave their lives fighting for their country.

From villages to town centres and underneath the region's landmarks, crowds gathered to pay their respects.

It was of course, a particularly special Remembrance Day, marking 100 years since the end of the First World War.

The portraits of fallen soldiers were etched in the sand across the South West as part of the 'Pages of the Sea' project by filmmaker Danny Boyle.
