A teenager from Taunton who was bullied most of his school years is speaking out this anti-bullying week.
18-year-old Ashley Carter was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome - a rare genetic condition affecting the development of bones and tissues in the face.
From the young age of nine, he was taunted by schoolmates whose words hurt him more than they could imagine.
He says even now he still faces stares and comments from strangers, but hopes others will find the courage to speak up against bullies like he did.
If you are being bullied, or are concerned about someone who is, there are many organisations out there who can support you.
Children can contact Childline for free 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 0800 1111.
For adults looking for advice and support if they are concerned about a child, the NSPCC helpline can also be contacted 365 days a year for free.
