Ben Smith from Portishead, who previously completed 401 marathons in 401 days, has announced his next challenge to run a marathon in every US state capital.

Ben, who used to be unable to "run for a bus", completed an epic marathon challenge in 2015-16 and was named ITV Fundraiser of the Year at the Pride of Britain Awards in 2016.

He raised more than £330,000 for anti-bullying charities.

His next challenge will not only see him running a marathon in each of the 50 US state capitals - he'll also cycle between each location.

The USA 2020 Challenge, which will cover a total of 18,500 miles in 104 days, will support mental health causes throughout the UK.

Throughout the adventure, Ben will average 177 miles a day, scaling the equivalent of nine Mount Everests in total. He hopes to raise one million pounds for two charities.
