Risk of hail and thunder in the West

Friday night will see some outbreaks of heavy rain, moving eastwards to leave a mixture of clear spells and showers.

Overnight temperatures will drop to around 2 degrees Celsius - so not as cold as the previous night - before a cloudy start on Saturday.

The cloud will give way to outbreaks of showery rain, with some turning heavy - and there is a risk of hail and even the odd rumble of thunder by the afternoon.

Looking ahead to Sunday, conditions will remain cold and light rains are expected.
