A torpedo has been safely detonated out at sea after being dragged up by a small fishing boat just off the South Devon coast.

The 1000lb underwater missile was hauled up by Brixham fishing crews yesterday afternoon (Sunday 20 January) after it got caught in their trawler net.

The Royal Navy, police, and coastguard were called in to find a safe way to detonate the torpedo.
